INSDIE: With these five tips learn how to change your mindset from scarcity (there's never enough) to a growth mindset (I have everything I need) for a happy life.

    . . .

What we believe about our ability to make positive change affects everything in our life, from our work, to our relationships, to our own self-esteem. A fixed mindset can keep us trapped in a life that isn't bringing us joy or peace and is keeping us from living to our fullest potential. But we can find peace of mind with a simple shift to a growth mindset.

Let’s start at the basics and define mindset.

What is mindset? Mindset is a mental attitude or inclination ... or a person’s way of thinking. Our mindset is shaped by our childhood and life experiences, but we are not defined by those experiences.

A fixed mindset can keep us from taking risks, from letting go of the status quo, and from opening ourselves up to new possibilities or relationships. When we shift from a negative, scarcity, fixed mindset to an abundant growth mindset, we allow ourselves to imagine a life that truly fits who we are and who we want to become.

Is changing your mindset possible? Yes, it’s never too late to make a change and you are always worth the effort.

5 Growth Mindset Quotes & Tips For A Simple Life

Here are five simple growth mindset quotes and tips so you can start living a life that you want to show up for...

    1. Make Your Scarcity Fixed Mindset Scarce

The first step towards changing your mindset is acknowledging that a fixed mindset is based on fear and not on truth. The belief that there isn't enough love, money, time, or resources to go around results in anxiety and a stagnant life. When we look closely, most of us can agree that we actually have more than enough. In fact, most of us have too much.

A gift of simple living is that it embraces living a life with less. When we let go of excess, we realize just how little we actually need. And with that realization comes the wonderful relief that what we have is already enough.

    2. Become a Growth Mindset Guru

The secret to changing your mindset is to become your own positivity expert...become a growth mindset guru. Spend time learning about how people change, how habits stick, what makes people happy, what successful people have in common.

What we focus on the most is where we will grow the most, so if you want to shift your mindset, soak up books, podcasts, and research that will help you change the way your think.

    3. If "Mindset is Everything," Then It Must Be Worth Working On

Changing mindset doesn't come without a little effort. In addition to learning about how to change your mindset, you have to become in-tuned with your thoughts. Listen to the way you speak to yourself. When negative thought pops up, notice them. Ask yourself if this is your negative or fixed mindset speaking and if you can replace it with a positive thought.

If you're listening to your thoughts carefully and speaking kindly to and about yourself, you will start noticing sources of outside negativity that you need to let go of in order to keep your mindset positive. Whether it's toxic relationships, over-commitment, or activities that aren't bringing you joy, you have permission to make changes to your life.

    4. Try Growth Mindset Activities

The best way to learn anything is to do it, to put it into practice. A great growth mindset activity is to challenge yourself to try something new. Book a reservation at a new restaurant, learn a new instrument, try out an exercise class, say yes to a new work opportunity.

Another growth mindset activity is to let go of some things in order to say yes to yourself. Declutter a closet so it only has clothes that you like wearing, say no to an invitation and do nothing instead. Skip the dishes and spend an afternoon reading in a hammock.

The best way to win the fixed vs growth mindset mental battle is to show yourself that change is possible by making a change. Start small and work your way up to more meaningful life changes.

    5. Embrace an Abundance Mindset By Practicing Gratitude

A practice of gratitude is one of the best ways to remind us just how full our lives really are. Start noticing every good thing that you come in contact with as you move about your day.

Spare some time each morning or evening to make a gratitude list. Watch it grow as your mindset grows. Expressing gratitude helps shift your life and bring in more peace.

It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow."

Changing to a growth mindset can be challenging in the beginning but you are worth the time and effort. It's never too late to start living a simpler, slower life that is perfectly suited to you.
