    Type Two: The Giver

Enneagram Twos are often described as the Giver, Caregiver, or Helper.

As a friend to many, they are beyond generous in their efforts to nurture, care for, and love the people around them. Type 2s can struggle with feeling unloved when there is a lack of reciprocity.

If you are a Helper, you are nearly euphoric when receiving a compliment like, "I couldn't have done this without you!"

    Enneagram 2 Personality Under Stress

When unhealthy Type 2s lack validation, they can default to a subconscious tit-for-tat mentality and aggressively blame others for their unhappiness.

When overwhelmed, they can also become demanding and controlling.

In other words, when Enneagram Twos are stressed they shift toward the unhealthy side of Type Eight, The Challenger.

Enneagram 8: The Protector, Challenger + Controller

    A Healthy Enneagram 2

Healthy Enneagram Twos become more realistic about self-care, and make fewer commitments to things that don't bring them joy. They also let go of pretending they love everyone

In summary, when Type 2s feel secure they shift toward the positive side of Type Four, The Creative.

    • Fashionable woman walking alone down a road surrounded by grass and mountains.
Enneagram 4: The Creative, Individualist + Romantic

Type 2: The Heart Triad ♥

Enneagram Two use how they feel as their primary guide when making decisions.

This is because Type 2 is part of the Heart Triad. This feeling centered triad is comprised of three types — Enneagram 4, Enneagram 3, and Enneagram 2.
